"This weekend we visited a neighbor of my mother's in Wellesley who had four fledgling screech owls left on their doorstep. The mom owl apparently did this on purpose. Coyotes make life very dangerous for owls that are out of the nest but not yet flying. The neighbor put the little owls in a cage in an open loft in his garage and the mom owl would come to visit. He had raised three to where they had flown off. We saw the last remaining owl."
