Would really like to plant some sweet potatoes, peppers, melons and squash this year. Have been saving seeds from the Winter Hill estate and heaven knows there's plenty of space here.

You know, I've just cultivated the vegetable garden in order to sow grass. Came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the trouble (except the asparagus), but I guess it may just be the general malaise I'm experiencing ....

Oh, that's not good, Bob. I know you're busy and everything...grass?

I know, but when the veg are ready for harvest we're either away on vacation, or they're so cheap (and so good) in the shops that it really isn't worth it!

Other not-so-good news in an email shortly ...

You might try some flowers, some herbs and a couple containers of cukes and tomatoes. Those're my standbys. As for the bad news - I'm sorry. You know I'm thinking good thoughts for you. Please take care.
