An important lesson learned this Christmas:

If you want to get out of cooking, cleaning up, doing dishes, etc, then get yourself a baby and keep them on your lap. They are such the "get out of (holiday) jail free" cards.

Other smaller, related lessons learned: babies pass gas and like to leave presents of curdled milk on your shoulder. Still, if you look past that, the soft skulls and lack of muscle tone, they're actually kind of neat.

(Above is little 'becca, approximately 10 weeks old, sporting a nifty little something I whipped up on the fly. Got to know her a bit this past weekend, lucky me.)

Oh, look at the hat!

Another cool thing: you put silly hats on them, they won't do anything about it. (snort). Isn't she a pretty girl?

Yes she is.

Did you make the little socks too? That is too cute.

Yeah...am making a set for the little boy upstairs, too. He was born the week after Thanksgiving.

I have a frog set by the same designer as well that's absolutely adorable.

Just looked at the directions again. Looks complicated.

Might be better to start out slow...knitting "in the round" is a little bit like advanced beginner.

I downloaded the instructions. I'll start with a scarf.

Where are the directions for the frog? Don't you have the adult version for that one?

NO...I'd have to develop it and write it.
I'll find you the froggie directions for the baby set, though.
