Girl cat's last wish may well be to outlive me. Two can play at that, though. Got some pill pockets, a love glove and some catnip today. Am going to kill the brat with kindness.

Didn't take long for her to figure out how to suck off pocket and spit the pill out. We're doomed.

When we were dosing Killie (it took both of us!) we used to grind pill up in anchovy essence and squueze it into her mouth with a syringe. So sticky that, even when we missed, she'd lick it of her chin. We also got a pill-popper that allows you to get the pill down the cat's throat before you let go (and you don't usually get wiounded) -- successful about 75% of the time.

Good luck with this...

The anchovy paste idea is a *really good* one. Will have to try it, as she's figured out the (way expensive) pill envelopes. Got a pill gun, but she still just holds stuff in her mouth until she can get away, then spits it out.

The Frenchie (her boyfriend) won't talk to her or pet her anymore because she's been making me cry, and that's been upsetting her, too.

Thanks for the advice!

I feel your pain! Luckily Scamp's medicine was in liquid form. I started dosing him and then resorted to dumping it in his food... You want to make the kitty better but you don't want to make their last few months miserable. I totally spoiled Scamp with milk, meat, whatever he wanted...
At least she's full of vim and vigour! When they let you give them meds without a murmur you know they are really sick!!! Persevere!!!

I usually wrap her up in a towel and balance between my knees on her back. She's taken to hiding her snout under the towel; I win out in the end, though, because I'm bigger and stronger. Without use of her claws, she's nothing. *emphatic Ampersand 'ech.'*
