Runaway Reindeer.

The folks who put Somerville on the map with their gates project are back with a touching holiday love story.

The Runaway Bunny is a wonderful reassurance for a child; the otherwise bored parent delights in the illustrations. This is just, as you say, codependence and clinginess, with a soupcon of the perverse for those who remember the original.

I also had what I think of as a TV moment watching it. Because I see an hour or so of TV a year, it comes as a bit of a shock to re-recognize just how stupid it is. So with this. I was looking up from the computer where I watched this, out the window at the hillside, where there actually are deer, and ponderosas, and aberts squirrels, and was thinking how much of our urban settings are just genuinely hideous.

If this has put Somerville on the map, Somerville can secede peacefully from the map with no let or hindrance from me.
