Have you ever read "Trouble for Trumpets"? It is a children's book about a creature named Podd that plugs in the crocus bulbs every spring, and some adventures he has! My daughter and I see the crocuses every year and think of Podd... he must have been very busy! Those are beautiful!!
No, I haven't...I did read "Dune," though and saw the movie. These specimens bring to my mind the worms on Arrakis.
