4:45 am: While I engage in my ruminations of an insomniac, the moon gets a bit of competition from the other early risers two doors down.

Up until yesterday, I was trying to figure out how to scrape a few sous together in order to spend the last couple of weeks before la rentrée back in France (when else will I have the chance to do that?). Now, I'm wondering if that's such a good idea. On one hand, yes, people want us dead. On the other hand, security's pretty tight, so we might be safer than ever. What to do, what to do.

I flew to London at the end of September 2001, so you know what I'll say. Even in a dangerous time, the odds are against any one of us being a victim. Go, and to thank me for my excellent advice, bring me back something nice from La maison du chocolat.

Oh, that's true, that's very true. I stand more of a chance of getting hit by a cah in my neighborhood than of dying on a plane. Still - these (sometimes not so) unreasonable fears crop up every now and again.

Just to let you know - I got a ticket Saturday morning and I'm heading out tonight...I work fast! So: what kind of chocolates do you like? Are you allergic to nuts?

And, then, while you are there, the British uncover a fiendish plot to blow up ten transatlantic flights to the U.S. They must have known you were coming!!!! Aiyeeeee!!!!

Geo: (snort) I really don't wish for that sort of attention. I just like to have minimal customs hassle and a friendly face at the other end of the flight.
